Why am I going crazy all of a sudden (read more)?

I recently broke my ankle, so I’ve been taking a lot of medication, and after the surgery, the pain got worse so I continued taking the medication, and I take medication up to 4 to 6 hours with viccodin & motrin. I’ve been trying to do my homework but I can’t focus at all anymore, and I’ve been very emotional about things easily, sometimes I’m emotional for no reason. I just feel like my mind is going crazy. I haven’t been eating much, and I feel very lightheaded. I tried eating today but it’s not changing anything, and I’m crying all night for no reason. I’m just in so much pain and stress, I’m just losing it. I feel like I’m going into depression, I haven’t showered for days and I’ve been home a lot , this whole “ankle” pain is just getting too far where I don’t get things done that need to be done, and my mind is just going crazy. I don’t know how I’m going to get everything back together.

Answer #1

Try lots of water. Extra sleep, and just take it easy.

Answer #2

It sounds a lot like you are having a reaction to your medications, you need to make an appointment with the doctor who wrote the Rx and make sure they know everything you are taking, Rx AND over the counter. If you cannot get in to see them within a day or two, you can take ALL your medications to your pharmacy and they can tell you if you have any combination that should be avoided. Make sure you are taking the right amounts at the right times.

It sounds like you are not going crazy, you are more likely just having a reaction that can be fixed by either changing or adjusting your current medications

Answer #3

You’re description is intentionally skewed so we’ll say, “its the medication”. Really, you broke your ankle and a control freak. Slow down and let others help you. Relax. Stop stressing.

And if you have had a cast on a broken ankle like your supposed to, then you shouldn’t be showering.

Answer #4

Being in pain gets old fast. Viccoden certainly can cloud your thinking and make you moody and lethargic. You aren’t going crazy, you are in pain, under stress, and heavily medicated. As they say, “this too shall pass.”
