How do Christians know if they have their crowns or not?

I have read how Jesus is telling all those who believe in Him and follow Him to not let the corrupt take their crowns. In the New Testament it speaks of this. So how would a Christian know if they had their crown or not?

Answer #1

pardon? I don’t want to get into a big religious debate, but I’m a follower of Christ and I don’t know anything about crowns.

Answer #2

It is based on following Him. Christians who follow the Lord and keep His Commandments then they have the crown of eternity, but if they happen to stray away from that path then they lose that crown and it is taken away from them. Not unless the follower regains it.

Answer #3

I’m not sure I understand. I’m Baptist and I’ve never heard that you could lose your salvation..

I’ve been saved but sometimes I worry whether or not I really am. I guess you just have to have faith.

Answer #4

it is intended to be a sign of vanity, some peoples crowns will be brighter and have more jewels on it by how devout you are in this life time- so it is intended to be a bribe and a status symbol in a religion where it has been said cares not for monetary things and the righteous should be humble and modest and not embrace objects or riches. to me as a non believer it is plain as day how the references to gold and crowns in heaven appear- but hey if that is what you choose to believe then you have that right.

references for the crown can be found in 1 peter 5:4 as well as revelations- it continues to amaze me how many christians truly do not know what their ‘book’ contains. but that is par for the course considering that the bulk of the bible is filtered through a minister and dictated towards the congregation letting them know what they are supposed to believe.

Answer #5

i am a christian and i never heard that before!

Answer #6

I am Pentecostal and I have very strict beliefs and I am surprised myself that others do not know of the crown that is granted to all believers. The crown represents a big thing into getting into the Heavenly Kingdom.

Answer #7

Most people who have damned them own selves from following Jesus and follow the Anti-Christ loses their salvation because they choose the Evil One over the Good One.

Answer #8

It’s a metaphor, or maybe not in some sense but The verse you are talking about is explaining how jesus wants to be with us in heaven basically the crowns part is probably to symbolise royalty, after all we are all God’s sons.

Answer #9

…or children

Answer #10

A crown is the treasure in heaven. It’s like for everything you do for Christ you get more crowns in heaven. It’s kinda like a reward system, though I don’t like calling it that. It also is in reference to where your heart belongs. The bible talks about a man’s heart is where his treasure lies. If he is rich in heaven’s riches then his heart is with God and not of the world and earthly treasures.

As for how many you have….. unless you can count every good and bad thing you’ve done or there becomes a “free crown report. com” you won’t know until Jesus shows you in heaven.

Answer #11

I love your explanation. I’ve been taught of the rewards too. I just didn’t understand the “losing your crown” issue.

Answer #12

Salvation isn’t anything you lose. You are either saved by the blood of Christ or you never were. You can’t undo what God does. You either follow Christ or the way of the world (the way of the “Evil One”). People will stumble in life because God does promise hardships in the lives of christians and tests of faith. However, once God has you there is no letting go.

Bethany I’m Baptist too, so I hope this helps.

Answer #13

some people believe you can lose your salvation….. I don’t understand losing crowns because your crowns are in heaven and to go to heaven you name must be in the book of life. If you name isn’t then you aren’t going to heaven therefore there is no crowns to lose because you never earned any.

Answer #14

Hanji just because we claim to be christians doesn’t mean we know everything. I’m American…. doesn’t mean I know everything about American (a broad example, I know). She is searching for answers so she can know. It is worse for her not to know and say nothing than for her to not know and seek the answer. As for the contradictory you may call it a bribe, but it’s really a reward. It is referencing to where one’s heart lies. Treasures on earth or in heaven. You can’t compare things of this world and things of heaven because they are completely different. You can’t gain heavenly things by any materialistic means. It’s showing that to people who earnestly do good things in the eyes of the lord are rewarded. Just as anyone is expects. God says the Last will be First.

Answer #15

But for those who accept the Mark of the Beast will have no more salvation because they immediately choose the Evil One over Jesus Christ because their minds have been clouded up with such lies that they do not believe upon the Son of God anymore. And as soon as that Mark is put on their forehead or right hand that is when all of it including their salvation is lost forever. That is when they become children of the Evil One.

Answer #16

I am not saying I know everything there is in the Bible but I do know quite a bit and Jesus has taught a good bit also. And why say your American and you belong to America and it is your home when your real home is in Heaven and not of this world? Jesus chooses those out of this world because He knows them and who they truly are and they are not of this world like Jesus was never of this world but He was of Heaven. The second part where I am talking about Jesus is in the Gospel of John it says that we as followers will be deceived by the world and we should not feel sad that we are hated by them because the world hated Jesus before it hated us, but therefor since Jesus chose us out of this world the world will hate us also because we bare Jesus Christs name in our hearts.

Answer #17

Well the mark of the beast is supposed to be during the tribulation after rapture. It hasn’t started yet. Or to my knowledge it hasn’t. The world will unionize and this man “the anti-Christ” will govern it all. You either choose the mark or die. That’s revelation….. But here is my thoughts, if you are truly saved and know God how can one choose the mark. If they truly are a Christian they would not choose the mark so the ones who lose salvation were never saved to begin with.

Answer #18

that is tue.. if u habe the mark of the beast u will be followin the evil one. But fortuanatly im sure all Gods ppl have read that and all who believe with all there heart will not take that mark even if they starve to death. not sure why it is so evil. must be the leader when it comes out. i have heard of somethin like that. to enforce it upon ppl or else they starve is evil to me. I wont take it.

Answer #19

If u r saved then u will always have ur crown. We are far from perfect. To get ur “crown” u must have Jesus in ur heart and give urself to him. Follow him and live for God. Be like Jesus as much as u can

Answer #20

My comment wasn’t towards you Nicole. I was trying to back ya up.
My real physical home is here in America. My real spiritual home is in heaven. I’m allowed both. Jesus was of heaven but in the world. The spirit and body reside in one being buth have 2 different destinations. Hope that clears things up And I’m not going to touch the Predestination topic…. No offense.

Answer #21

Well the mark will become necessary in order to buy things. So yeah Christians will starve etc….. However we don’t live on bread alone

Answer #22

yea.. well reguardless i wont be takin it. i wonder about those RFID chips.. they are implantin them into ppls hands now and it pays for everythin with a swipe of ur hand. Not mandatory yet…. but im thinkin eventually they wil be

Answer #23

I’ve been raised in church since I was born and I got saved when I was about 13. I love God, I really do. It’s just that sometimes I have doubts about whether or not I truly am saved. I’m 20 years old so naturally, I sin. Some people say that those who aren’t saved don’t worry about it and that it’s the Devil trying to trick me and whatnot. It terrifies me because I’m confused.

Answer #24

What people are receiving RFID chips anyway??? they say the Veri-Chip is the Mark of the Beast then they are saying the RFID chip is the Mark of the Beast not unless the Mark of the Beast takes on different forms. But there might be only one.

Answer #25

Sorry I just now realized that. And if you want to know this I am not a blonde. Whenever I see comments it always gets me into some sort of preaching mood then I tend to go on and on and on. I always tend to do that even when people are trying to back me up.

Answer #26

which ever one becomes mandatory and the world as at its worse. im sure we r still a long while away. either way im ready to go. When some1 tells me to get the chip or be decapitated or starve i will definatly no that its time. Jesus here is come :) No chip for me in my hand or my head…there are a few recieving those chips.. Veri chip is the same thing with a different name. Member there may be many names for it but its the same thing. maybe 666 names for it. just dont get any kinda chip or nothin implanted in u.. its not mandatory yet but i fear it will soon be. takes years to make things happen

Answer #27

really if u have Jesus in ur heart and live for God everyday u r saved.. u have to learn about him everyday try to be like him. now nobody is perfect and he realizes that. but as long as u are truely trying and build a relationship with Jesus. I try to pretend he is walkin by me everywhere i go. a physical person so it helps me not to sin.

Answer #28

haha… it’s all good. I am one to rant too

Answer #29

Well Bethany…. if the devil is trying to trick ya then you know you’re in God’s hands. Satan only tries to get what he doesn’t have. By your statement right there that you love God…. it proves you’re a christian. I’m 22 and God knows I’ve done my fair share of sinning but that’s the beauty of God’s grace. He loves us past our sinning. Don’t worry…. and if you feel far from him then opening the bible is the way to draw closer to him.
