What do chinchilla's need.. a water BOWL or a hamster water BOTTLE?

Connnfuseddd! Pleasse help! I need to know quickly! I don’t know if my chin needa a water bottle or water dish. They’re not allowed getting wet so I don’t know if the dish is a good idea in case it spills. D: Please help noww!

They can use either one, but a bottle on the side of the cage is more hygienic. A bowl gets dirty easily with food and hay (or whatever you fill the cage with) getting inside it and messing the water.

They seem to have a sense about these things. Like when a caterpillar hatches from it’s chrysalis it knows to eat it. Animals can suss out how to get the food (or in this case, water). Maybe you could talk to the pet shop owner that you brought the chinchilla from, or just ring a random pet shop- they will probably be more than happy to talk you through it. You could watch your chinchilla for a while to make sure he/she drinks. Keep in mind that for the first few hours it may be scared of the water bottle but it should get used to it within a few days.
