  Hmm...I would agree with Mandy. Do extra work, even go as far as helping people in the neighborhood. Like mowing grass, raking leaves, dog walking, babysitting, those kinds of things. Don't be greedy and charge a ton, no one wants to hire someone to help if they are asking for way too much $. Also you can remind your parents that there are cell phones where they can limit your talk/text time and only allow certain numbers. While that may suck, it will make them feel better about it and you will still get what you want too.

  You dont NEED one you WANT one. There is no reason that you would need cellphone this age, since you can't even drive yet.

  As for convincing your parents, do extra work around the house, do some things around the neighborhood to make extra money, show them you are responsible and follow their rules and they are likely to be more giving.
