I got pregnant when I was 16. I'm not sure how far along I was, it wasn't way to far though. Anyway, I was with an abusive guy. I made him mad one day and he beat me, hard blows to the stomach and all. Well, that killed that baby. I went through everything and had it all taken care of and such. I don't want anyone to know about this, ecspecially the guy I marry. So if I go for a pap, or if I get pregnant again, will my doctor be able to tell that I've been pregnant before?
I would say you have no worries about that at all. The information in your medical records are confidential and if the doctor does disclose any of the information to your future husband or anyone else for that matter, they would be in breech of many laws. As you never physically gave birth I don't think a doctor can tall from an examination that you have been pregnant. But you should tell your doctor for health reasons that you had a miscarriage before but it should be completely confidential.
Dear thatonegirl, Yes, your doctor will be able to tell...but he cannot disclose this to anyone if you don't want him too. Of course you know that not being totally honest with your husband will bring you problems. So do yourself a favour and seek out counselling to come to terms with you problems so that you can stop the guilt you are feeling. When you realize it wasn't your fault you will find it easier to be honest with the ones you love and who love you. Sue...good luck
I once miscarried and didn't tell anyone because it was easier to just forget. 12 years later I visited a new doctor and he swore he could tell I'd been pregnant before, even though at first I'd forgotten and argued that I hadn't ever been with child. I asked how he could tell and he said it just looked like it -- it was obvious. Well, obviously that didn't answer my question because I'm googling the subject now! :)
Honey sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your doctor could no,it can be a million years ago but he/she will know,ok so even though you don't tell your doctor he will ask you anyway...
