well I usually make friends by being my own shy quiet self … but be yourself … I am sure you’ll be fine =]

Answer #2

Here’s some ideas:

Visit the school ahead of time. Go when school is in session so teachers and students are present. Size up the situation, notice the way the kids dress and act.

Dress in clothes that you like the first day of school. However, if your style is extreme, you might want to tone it down until you are more confident that you fit in.

Smile and say hello to everyone you see. Introduce yourself when you sit down next to someone in class. Do not rule out any particular group of students based on their appearance.

Look for your niche. Keep your eye open for people that remind you of your friends from your old school. Approach these people and introduce yourself. Ask them if you can join them for lunch.

Act confident, but do not act conceited or cocky. Do not be shy. Step6Join a club or try out for a team. This provides the opportunity to get to know people that have similar interests as you.

Have a great year !!

Just be yourself, don’t be someone you’re not. I used to be anti social when I was in High School and Junior High, and when I’d make friends which I didn’t have very many, I’d just be so shy and then after awhile, I’d come out of my shell and start a conversation. You should try to make use of lunchtime, or after lunch before classes start, and ask a bunch of people if you could join them to hang out. If they welcome you, just try to strike up a conversation. Talk about what interest you, and see if anyone in the group would chime in. Sometimes, that seems to work. Just bring out who you are as a person, not who everyone wants you to be. If people in your new school don’t like the way you act or appear, that’s too bad! Its their loss. I wish you luck and have a great year.
