can I have a shi tzu if im allergic to dogs?

I have ashtma and am allergic to dogs but I hear shi tzus are safe and most people arnt allergic to them?

You will need a dog that is hypo-alergenic (meaning they don’t shed) so you would need to get a different breed.

You might want to go visit someone who raises them, and test your reactions…see if they bother you…BEFORE you actually get one. There’s lots of breeds that are hypo-allergenic, so don’t give up…just “test” first.

I have ashtma and I’m allergic to dogs too. But only some of them, it depends on what kind of dogs you’re allergic to, you might be allergic to all of them, because of the fur and dandruff (SP?). Or just some of them. You can go to the doctors and they can do some test to see which ones you’re allergic to, or you could get a shot that makes you not allergic to them. Sometimes I’m allergic to dogs, and I get sick, and then sometimes I’m not. It depends really. Smaller dogs are better though because they don’t have as much fur and dandruff.
