Calorie counting.

I’m 5 ‘2, weigh 110.

I’m obsessed with keeping my calories under 1,000. If I go over, I feel really guilty. I workout at least 30min. a day.

I’ve been on all of the sites that tell me how many calories I should be taking in, But I still hate going over 1,000..

What should I do? What’s wrong with me?

You should weigh between 99 and 121 pounds for your height.   Normal Adult Height-Weight Range Table

1000 calories is not adaquate for you. Probably 1200 to 1800 calories would be more beneficial.

“What should a minimum calorie intake be?”

As a guide to minimum calorie intake, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) recommends that calorie levels never drop below 1200 calories per day for women or 1800 calories per day for men. Even these calorie levels are quite low.

If you are worried about fat, develop a good exercise program that will tone your body, decreasing fat but not necessarily weight, but will make you look and feel better.   Check out this link for exercise information:

Answer #3

Just stop looking at the calories. or get foreign foods that you can’t tell what the calories are. there isn’t really any advice except to just not worry about it. you’re not over weight at all!

Answer #4

My first question is what are the sites telling you? I’m assuming they say more than 1,000 (so tell me if I’m wrong, but the website I used says over 2,000).

There’s nothing wrong with you, you’re just concerned about how you look. It’s how society says you should look, unhealthily thin. The best thing I can tell you is that your body knows when it’s not getting enough calories. And when your body doesn’t get enough calories it goes into “survival mode.” Your metabolism slows way down and your body tries to conserve as much as it can. It burns less fat, and tries to store more. Also by limiting your calories you severly limit the nutrients your body gets, which makes you less healthy, age faster, and die sooner.
