What do buddist do and believe in?

i’m thinking i need a religion

Answer #1

I suggest getting some books are really reading them, buddhism is a way of thinking and life and its not for everyone. I read some books on it when i was going through my searching for a religion phase and there were tons of things that clashed with my personal views. Theres more to it than people realize, but its definatly worth reading into. A very peaceful religion.

it was founded by siddhartha guatama, and started in india. they believe that people achieve peace/happiness, known as nirvana, by eliminating their attachment to like…worldly things. nirvana is reached by following the eightfold path. and keep in mind tht nirvana is a state of being, not a place. it’s when we realize our true nature, our true existence, our reality, which is not here on earth, in these bodies. were all of the one, the self; enlightened already. were just blinded from it by our worldly senses, so after we realize this, that we are not the thinker of our thoughts but the observer of the thinker, then we can progress towards that realization. then when we die, we are no longer bound by karma to return to this world and we remain as we are and as we have always been. in buddhism, there is no individual soul or self; that which you view as your self, your soul, is the same as everyone else’s. we are all “of the one”.

i had to do a paper on buddhism hahhaha

Actually that’s almost completely true….” then when we die, we are no longer bound by karma to return to this world”…see, everything is impermanent, and that includes Nirvana….we do return to the earth and are still bound by Karma, but once we’ve reached enlightenment, we have a natural inclination towards right action, speech, and mind.
