is it bad to brush your hair in the shower after you wash it?

Answer #1

I’m not sure, but I would think that you can add a lot more hair to what goes down the drain and cause more drain clogs.

Answer #2

ive heard that no its not good because your hair is at its weakest point when its wet

Answer #3

Brushing wet hair is bad(though I do it sometimes) but combing hair in the shower is o.k. just put the extra hair in the trash.

Answer #4

well sometimes yes because we all have differnt hair types and they sometimesrwact to thing differntly so at times if u do that. That can actauly take some of your hair out especialy if your hair is wet and your not using a big tooth comb to comb it out.

Answer #5

Answer #7

No. Most of the time brushing your hair when it’s wet causes it to break out.

Answer #8

I have a lot of hair and so my hair would be a nightmare if I didnt brush it while it was wet (my hair has literally broken brushes because of how knotted it gets), but I guess it just depends. Honestly it wouldnt make a difference to me if I lost some hair.

Answer #9

We are not as lucky as you Ty :)

Answer #10

then why do hairdressers comb your hair while it’s wet and conditioned, then brush it when they’ve finished washing and it’s still wet?

Answer #11

lol, i get my hairdresser to thin out my hair. I wish I had less hair!

Answer #12

Apparently it isn’t, however I sometimes comb my hair in the shower when it is wet and it comes out softer and feeling better. I don’t think it is something you should break your head about. As long as you still go for a trim regularly you are fine.

Answer #13

Brushing your hair after getting out of the shower - well brushing your hair when it’s wet, full-stop - it’s bad. Especially if your scalp is wet. When you shower, you skin and hair soaks up water and softens (that’s why they tell you to shave your legs in the shower - or 3 minutes after getting in the shower). If you brush your hair afterwards, you’re tugging on the softer hair embedded into your softened scalp. This means that your hair will pull out more easily. Brushing on your hair when it’s like that will also make it more prone to breaks because the hair is soft. What I do is, when I’m in the shower, while the water is still running, I use a comb and I comb through my hair with the water running through it (you know the way you hair is all smooth when water is running through it. Then I squeeze the water out when I’m done washing my hair.
