Brace Elastics

Yesterday I went to the orthodontist and he put on my elastic bands on my braces. When I got home I took them out because he told me to before I ate, but I didn’t do it infront of the mirror. so now I have forgotten how to put them back on. I put them on the way I thought but now they just REALLY hurt. I have looked on a few internet thingys and the diaagrams show that the elastic crosses like a zig-zag? I have put mine on in the shape of a box. is that wrong?

There’s a reason they put those rubber bands on the way they did. Its to pull your teeth one way or the other. So its probably better to leave them off than put them on wrong because you don’t want to pull your teeth the wrong way. Tell your parents about the confusion. Maybe you can just call the orthodontist to find out the placement. It doesn’t hurt to ask.
