How do I get my boyfriend to see someone about his rib?

My boyfriend is a big fan of metal music and their concerts tend to be a bit violent. Earlier this year (about May/June time) he went to one of these concerts and got elbowed in the chest and he heard one of his ribs crack. You can see it poking out when you look at his chest and he has trouble breathing sometimes and occassionally complains about it hurting/aching. He hasn’t seeked any medical attention and hasn’t told his mother, and now I’m really worried about him. It looks like it’s getting worse. Ever since it happened I’ve told him to go to the doctor to get it looked at because I know that broken ribs can be pretty dangerous. He says that now he’s scared to tell his mother because she’ll shout at him for not telling her earlier, but I really think he needs to do something about it. He’s going to a concert in May that will potentially be even more violent, and I don’t want it to get any worse. What do I do?

tell him he NEEDS to go to a doctor if he stilll doesnt tell his parents

There are lots of moshing accidents at metal concerts. There usually isn’t a lot that doctors can do for a broken rib but he should still get medical advice.

Maby telling him that you will do something for him if he goes to see someone about his rib. Let him choose what he wants u to do for him.

Answer #4

Answer #5

Tell him that you are really worried about him and that you believe he needs to go see someone. If he doesnt then say you either go to the doctors or i will take you myself. I totally understand teh fact of not wanting to go i hate going to the doctor. There is many times my boy friend had to take me. If it really bothers you then express your feelings. If he cares about how you feel he will go and if he doesnt then you should ask him if he cares about how it makes you feel? Hope this helped and wish you luck!

Answer #6

I’d just tell him “Tell your mother, or I’ll tell her for you”. It’ll be for his own good.
