how do blind persons have memories or know what something is if blind from birth?

Answer #1

You don’t have to see to have your brain work. It is our brains that generate memories, not our eyes. It’s the same as you remembering playing hide and seek when it is pitch dark.

Answer #2

They will have heightened sense of hearing, touch etc..

Answer #3

^^ or even dreaming.

Answer #4

They can still generate memories just like the rest of us. Often memories are linked to smells or sounds more than sights. Like when you smell something and it reminds you of “Grandma’s house” it’s the same thing, only (more than likely) a blind person will not have the visuals to go with it. They may “see” things in their head that aren’t necessarily accurate to things we see, but you never know what the mind is capable of.

Answer #5

“Compared to people with normal vision, those who were blind at birth tend to have excellent memories. Now, a new study shows that blind individuals are particular whizzes when it comes to remembering things in the right order.” http: //[link removed]. com/releases/2007/06/070621130052.htm
