Is the birth control "Jolessa" supposed to affect your period in the first month?

This is my first time ever taking birth control. I’m on Jolessa. I started taking it September 2nd. My last period was August 19th. My mom is a nurse & was saying it shouldn’t affect my period the first few months. It’s now September 21st & still no period or any signs of it. Could I be pregnant? I mean, it’s possible that I could have gotten pregnant before I started taking it. Also some girls DO get pregnant on the pill. But from what I understood I’m still supposed to have a regular period the first few months. Am I getting this right?

HELP PLEASE

Answer #1

i got my period a week late at the end of my first month on the pill which is normal for me, but i got it the day i started my ‘sugar pills’. so i really don’t think it affects when you get it since it’s a new thing for your body. but mine usually hurts and is heavy and it didn’t this time and it was light. so it might affect stuff like that.

Actually it’s not uncommon for a person to feel some side-effects the first few months of taking a hormonal contraceptive. Some people spot, some do find that their periods get messed up. Either way, you really ought to take the test just to be sure.

For me jolessa worked the month I took it my friend on the other hand took a few months. It is not something to worry about just means your body took to the horomones faster. If you are truly worried about ask to speak with your doctor.
