Atheism

I just wondering what your thoughts about athiesm and athiest are.

I’m athiest. And I will not get offended if you trash talk us. This discussion will be open. (:

Answer #1

People dont blame anything on religion, I think its important to understand that.

Yes, the do, sometimes when things go wrong in their life or when things happened to them that they COULD have controlled, they’ll say it was their god’s will.

And toadaly is right as well.

Answer #2

believing in Islam has nothing to do with terrorism.

Muslims are against violence (terrorism) you are talking about extremist groups which could also be non religious therefore you cannot blame what happened on september 11th on Islam.

True, yes islam doesn’t encourage violence in that way,

But sometimes religious followers interpret their religion otherwise. I believe that is the point that was made.

And you can in essence blame certain decisions people have taken on the religion then, because if that religion didn’t exist then people wouldn’t have had anything wrong to interpret regarding it.

Answer #3

Alright jeremy93! Ahaha.

Answer #4

Answer #5

Answer #6

afilover, I also have been through many things in my life… and I strongly believe that whatever happens in this life is from God. God is there to help us many things that happen to us are for various reasons and some of those things are often going to happen to us, to test us to teach us to be patient, to test our faith, to call us to Lord our God. I suggest you to read the Bible, or the Quran.. although they are suggestions dont read them if you dont think its neccesary. There was a chain of events in my life that occured and I was seeking an explanation for months.. and after time with a lot of prayer and reading the words of God, I realized it was God that wanted to correct the course I’ve taken in this life and to invite me to him.

I have nothing against athiests, I just believe that God will guide who he wills, and I pray that you find God, because nothing can stop anyone from connecting with God, nothing. God created us, and to him we will return.

I hope I helped.. :)

Answer #7

:O, Toadaly, I didnt mean it it in that sense I meant if something bad happens to me I dont blame it on God thats what I meant.

And as for the twin towers dont get it twisted, believing in Islam has nothing to do with terrorism. Muslims are against violence (terrorism) you are talking about extremist groups which could also be non religious therefore you cannot blame what happened on september 11th on Islam.

Answer #8

* People dont blame anything on religion, I think its important to understand that.

Huh? Of course people blame things on religion, and rightfully so. If Islam didn’t exist, the twin towers still would. The crusades and Inquisition were directly motivated by religion.

That doesn’t mean atheists are saints (Stalin for example), but let’s just be honest in our discussions. Religion does motivate behavior, sometimes good, sometimes horrific.

Answer #9

im with ya. I choose not to believe in anything. I think religion is just false hope. it just gives people something to rely on, depend on, blame things on, fall back on. and I guess it makes people happy thinking of a place to go after death. I just find it so hard to believe in any religion. they are all so different. everyone of them thinks they are right. if there is so maany different religions, which one is the right one? I cant believe something that is totally unrealistic and unproven.

Answer #10

I don’t have a problem with atheism or religion.

I myself haven’t made up my mind yet…and that doesn’t bother me, but I don’t consider myself agnostic really either.

I understand the points that atheist made, I even mostly agree with them.

I also understand the points that religious people made and have a few friends whose lives changed when they became religious…but to me it doesn’t mean that it is for everyone.

What I do have a problem with is when someone (atheist or religious) tries to force others to believe what they do, to me you cannot because you do not have the same experiences and did not grow up in the same environment as others.

Answer #11

and also you mention the ‘’christian God’’ … the jewish God, the christian God, the muslim God.. its all the same God.. there is but one unique God.

Answer #12

well seb there are many religions,. and so many different gods that people could choose to beleive in and it sounded like you were trying to convert her because you said “I just believe that God will guide who he wills, and I pray that you find God, because nothing can stop anyone from connecting with God, nothing. God created us, and to him we will return” and im a proud athiest for the very same reason that chrisitians call themselves proud to be a christian anyone can be proud of what they beleive in or choose not to

Answer #13

I’ve always kinda thought being an Athiest is almost a religion in itself, as a couple of people here have also referred to it as one ^.^ Just an observation XD Anyway what I originally was going to say before my mind wandered off was that I fully respect everyones religions or lack of one and will listen and discuss everyones point of view happily, I myself was a christian when I was younger but as I got older I started to question things. I beleive in some sort of presence and have been a Wiccan for over 9 years and it feels just right to me. My impression is that it deals with energies rather than all powerful beings and that just seems right to me. hope you found my comments interesting ^.^

Answer #14

Hmm no I do respect everyone’s belief wether its juduisme, christianity, Islam or even if you dont believe in God, I respect that. Personaly I have nothing agianst anyones beliefs. There is a difference between me praying for her and not respecting her beliefs. And to correct you I was speaking of God singular and not ‘’gods’’, I just want to make that clear.

… Can I ask you why you’re a proud athiest jaz?

Answer #15

“why do you not belive in the man that died for your sins?”

Because she chooses not believe.

Answer #16

brina7

there is no tangible evidence that he even existed, let alone died for “everyone’s sins” or even the child of some god. & there’s no evidence in any god. & Most of Christianity practices were a rip of from pagan practice

Answer #17

I totally get where your coming from, after years of praying for god to get me out of my troubles, and being consistanly dissappointed I just gave up. I also realized all “god” is is a way for people to blame their problems on something else, “it was in Gods plans”

Answer #18

I mean… Don’t get me wrong people, I have nothing against people who believe in a god/s, I mean my boyfriend is catholic. But sometimes I think it seems pathetic… I’ve been through soo much drama, so many traumatizing events, that I eventually lost hope. My mom doesn’t approve. She’s really religious. But she came to the time when she doesnt care. My dad is just whatevers about it.

Answer #19

im athiest, I just dont get the point of believing in something unprovable

Answer #20

I’m a fellow Atheist,my mom doesn’t respect the religion because she says it down talks her God but like my mentor told me,she can’t change me,only I can.

Answer #21

I’m agnostic…bordering on Atheism…I think to each his own, I can totally see why the whole god thing makes no sense! Its so annoying.

Answer #22

We as human beings have to do whatever we can, but at the end, God’s will, will be done.

Answer #23

actually ^ they do a lot of wars were caused because of religion

Answer #24

Woohoo atheists!!! I have my own reasons for not believing in the Big Man, what’s yours?

Answer #25

why do you not belive in the man that died for your sins?

Answer #26

Let me tell you why it isn’t proof. The gospel is hypocrisy.

According to the stories in the gospel these things are true; 1.We have free will 2.God is all powerful

  1. God created the universe and the space and time within the universe.

Let’s think about this, If god is all powerful and used that power to create the Universe filled with space and time, then God would then be infinite, and if he is infinite he is unaffected by his creation, including space and time.

If he is unaffected by space and time he is present at any moment in our past present and future all at once.

Meaning when you make a decision god will be present in both possible outcomes of that decision, therefore knowing every possible out come of every possible situation at any possible given time.

Finally this proves that since he knows all and created the motion of time and our existence, all our lives were predestined in his creation, and if all our lives are predestined then we don’t really have free will, contradicting its own teachings.

If god were affected by space and time he would then be finite and not all powerful, meaning god can then age, contradicting it again in every possible was you look at it, it will eventually contradict itself.

Answer #27

I am a proud Christian and this reminds me of one statement I once read, where the author once stated…

“If you are indeed right and I am wrong, then all I have lost is a little time sitting in a church pew and believing in a God that doesn’t exist. However, if I am indeed correct and you are wrong, then what…?”

So much for scare tactics… just something for you to think about. Besides Christianity is not about a vengeful or angry God, but about a loving and compassionate God who wants a one-on-one relationship with you. You don’t get a reliable form of love with an atheist philosophy (I say reliable, because man will always let you down… and keep in mind that man is the only thing that atheists can rely on, since no higher form of deity exists).

Even the Bible, written 2,000 years ago (when there were literally hundreds of deities in every walk of Greek and Roman life) addressed the issue of atheism, when it stated… “the fool says in his heart ‘there is no God’. Psalms 14:1

Answer #28

im not avoiding anything .. the Torah, the gospel, the Quran is the PROOF

No… it isn’t… learn better English, and learn the difference between:

PROOF vs. EVIDENCE PROVING vs. CONVINCING KNOWING vs. BELIEVING

Until you do, you’re just another misinformed zealot spouting nonsense.

Answer #29

im not avoiding anything .. the Torah, the gospel, the Quran is the PROOF

yes, you are avoiding issues, you ignore any answers made to you.

furthermore how do YOU know that the Torah, the gospel and the Quran is correct?

Answer #30

God sent prophets, to warn us and give the believers the good news, the Torah was reveiled by Moses (a.s), the Gospel was reveiled to Jesus(a.s), the Psalms was reveiled to David (a.s) and finally the Quran was reveiled to Mohammed (phub). All the prophets had the same message. Adore and submit yourself to God.

Answer #31

The fact that your there is blood pumping through your heart at this very moment is a miracle. Only substainable by God.

How do YOU KNOW your god even exists?

Answer #32

The fact that your there is blood pumping through your heart at this very moment is a miracle. Only substainable by God.

Answer #33

The fact that your there is blood pumping through your heart at this very moment is a miracle. Only substainable by God.

That doesn’t prove the human body is perfect, nor does it prove that god exists.

Again, that doesn’t prove that god even exists… but I can see you’re now trying to AVOID the issues… typical…

Answer #34

There are many proofs jasmine.. think about all the complexities of the human body and how perfect it is. It was clearly created by a perfect being which is God (swt).

Answer #35

The human body is PERFECT, take some anatomy classes and learn about the human body, and evolution would not lead to such a perfect form.

Where’s your PROOF and the human body is perfect, pay more attention in class.

Answer #36

The human body is PERFECT, take some anatomie classes and learn about the human body, and evolution would not lead to such a perfect form.

No… it isn’t… maybe you should pay attention in your anatomy classes… and maybe also learn the definition of ‘’perfect’’

Answer #37

The human body is PERFECT, take some anatomie classes and learn about the human body, and evolution would not lead to such a perfect form.

Answer #38

im not avoiding anything .. the Torah, the gospel, the Quran is the PROOF

Answer #39

The human body is not perfect. Think about it. All other animals have practically the same organs as we do… the same bone structure. Us humans just adapted differently, and we have evolved over time.

Answer #40

think about all the complexities of the human body and how perfect it is

Think about…EVOLUTION

Answer #41

why are all you fuckkers atheists what if He is real, what will you do. huuh!?

Answer #42

why do fuckkers doing suppose He is real wtf are you people gonna do

Answer #43

yea atheism is my beleaf because it sas god created atom and eve from hi rib and dirt then theoretically their dna is exactly the same and therfor upon having children the insest would cause crazy birth affects and throughout the 6 generations until insest isnt a problem the kids would be mentally retarded in most cases therfor are we the product of insest?? if this were true we woulde have the problems as our challenged great great great great… g parents did through genetics and im not sure but I beleave insest in most cases causes sterility and if this were the case how did black and indians and native americans and all the other races come out of these so calld white people if you beleave their white not sure if that was sad or not

Answer #44

im a proud athiest and really dont know why youd want to be trash talked? sure we can all have a discussion but there doesnt need to be trash talking involved and if there is any this question could very well be removed as for me, I hate the idea of god but I dont care if anyone else beleives in it what I dont like is stubborn christians trying to convince everyone by beging and scaring you into beleiving what they do I would honestly be happier dead than beleiving in the chrisitian god and so seb2121 why? why on earth would you say you have nothing against athiests then say that you hope and pray she will find god because gods is the only thing she needs to beleive in? you clearly dont RESPECT anyone elses beleifs but your own so you cant expect anyone else to respect what you beleive in either

Answer #45

I am an atheist- I take knowledge from what has been proven by scientists, as opposed to believing in elaborate fairytales riddles with false logistics and contradictions.

I remember my earliest understanding was when I was about 10- my family had to fill out these census forms, which asked us to define our religion. I thought about all I had learned about religion, and wrote done ‘none’. I explained to my parents the basis of all religions is to treat each other the way you’d like to be treated, but people get killed, hurt, and alienated by it each day, and that wasn’t something I could ever agree with. I would rather have no religion. I guess my atheism grew from there.

I use logic, reasoning, and the evidence given to me through science to understand the world around me, and anything I’m not sure of, I’m not afraid to say ‘I don’t know’. I don’t need religion to fill in those blanks.

Answer #46

I have no problem with people that believe in god. I just think that every individual is solely responsible for the choices they make and what they have in life. A lot of people just use god to not take responsibility for their actions. And to quote five finger death punch “I wont bow to something that I have never seen.”

Answer #47

‘’a lot of people use God to take responsibility for their actions’’ thats not true.. a lot of people asks God’s fogiveness for their actions, but theres cleary a difference between the both.
