Quite often, the food is the same as what we eat, it’s just in tubes or compressed in weird cans. Without gravity, there is no way an astronaut could eat things like chips, cereal, liquids or half of the other foods we eat. Also, they are up there for a very long time so their food needs to last for a long time hence tubes and cans.
