would anyone on here consider reading the ‘satanic bible’ and what are your views about satanism etc just interested :)

Answer #1

No problem, if you just read the rules and not the meaning behind them or the explanantion it can be a little misleading.

Answer #2

Looking at it some of it sounds a little harsh like some of The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth and such that talks about destroying people.

Answer #3

That sounds like an interesting book. I’ll have to read it sometime.

Answer #4

just thought id add, I’ve never read it and dont have any intentions to as far as I know lol

Answer #5

Ok thanks mandyloo. I misunderstood.

Answer #6

I’ve read bits and pieces of it. Like any self-help philosophy book, it’s got some good ideas and some crap ideas.

Answer #7

Jester - where did you see anything about destroying people. That is completely against LeVeyan Satanism. They dont’ believe in harming others, animals, etc. The only case in which they allow harming others are self harm - is when it’s in sex play and both adults are consenting.

Ah, the last rule. That is taken out of context.

“I do not interpret “destroy” to mean “kill”, as this would be stupid to kill those who merely bother me. I interpret this to mean that you should not take any sh*t whilst going about your life. Don’t let yourself get trampled on. “Destroy” means that you remove that person as a risk” “Satanism and Violence”

Instead, this rule is about reality. Machiavelli wisely wrote that to forget about reality when attempting to pursue what is good behaviour is ruinous: “Anyone”, he wrote, “who abandons what is for what should be pursues his downfall rather than his preservation; for a man who strives after goodness in all his acts is sure to come to ruin, since there are so many men who are not good”8. Behaviour should be gauged to the moment, and not remain fastened to untenable ideals.

Answer #8

Oh people definatly have the wrong impression of it. Although there is a huge difference between LeVeyan Satanism and Satanism.

LeVeyan Satanism - Do not believe in Satan himself. The use Satan as a metephor for people’s inner desires. The focus on individuality, an eye for an eye, self indulgence, carnal desires, and not making people feel bad for who they are or for giving in to their own desires that are completely natural.

Satanism - They do believe and worship Satan himself. It’s a whole ‘nother religion.

Answer #9

thats how I feel, I’ve read what could be called reviews about it and I think some people have misconceptions about what it is, but I dont think many people would accept me reading it although it is something that interests me greatly, would you recommend reading it?

Answer #10

I have read it several times and very interested in his views on things. I like the “an eye for an eye” philosophy and giving into to our carnal desires. I love how it praises being yourself, individuality, and not being ashamed to be sexual. I’ve actually though about getting into LeVeyan Satanism but I would like to read more about it before I decide.
