Am I just being overly protective??

My mom and my brother moved in with me and my family about 2 weeks ago. She had left her boyfriend and promised us all that she wouldnt go back. He was a complete * to her, my brother, and my kids. She would have bruises all over her and she would say that they were playing and he just got to rough… Whatever the case may be, she move in with me. Well, I made my garage into a room for my brother (it used to be the kids play area) and I changed my daughters room so that my mom could share her room with her. All of this I am ok with, I have done so much to help her and my brother because they mean the world to me, if they need anything I will buy it for them or whatever. Well this week, her and her ex boyfriend have been all flirty and shes been staying out late with him, and its been really bugging me. I understand that she is grown and can make her own choices, but I have completely changed everything in my life to make it where she is more comfortable, and I feel almost used. I love my mom and my brother is my best friend, I just need some advice on this…

Your mom might feel bad about you drastically changing your life for her. And you said it doesn’t bother you but it might bother your mom. And getting back with her ex would let you get back to your normal life. I know nothing about your mom so I might be way off, but she also might be scared about spending the rest of her life alone, not alone but without a lifepartner. And her ex is at least some security to that. So I would suggest convincing her that she can do better than that guy, lay out a guilt trip if you have to. Make sure she knows that her living with you doesn’t bother you at all, in fact you like it. And mention to her that you don’t want her or your little brother around that prick. And your not being overprotective, I would kill any mother f*cker who hurt my mom- thats overprotective, but true.
