What are two breeds of freshwater fish that will get along in a two gallon bowl?

Answer #1

I had certain types and colors of barb fishes (cherry, mellon…ect) put together with neon tettras a few years back, they got along well :)

Answer #2

I doubt 2 gallons is enough for 2 fish. My tank is 5 gallons and the pet store guy told me that it was dangerous for the fish if I put more than maximum 2 in. I did it anyway and they’re fine, but it’s not recommended. Anyway, feeder fish get along swimmingly (see what I did there? See? :P) and goldfish probably would as well…but those sometimes get pretty big. Your best bet would probably be feeder fish, because they’re dirt cheap and they’re super tough. They’re also kept in big groups at the pets store so they’d be used to being together.

Answer #3

That’s assuming that you’re not going to be putting any heating equipment in the bowl, lol. If you are then you have more options but the heater would mean less room for the fish. I would talk to the pet store owner about good fresh water fish for a 2 gallon bowl before buying anything.

I’m kinda looking for pretty, exotic fishies that’ll brighten up my room!!! Thx

Answer #6

You are only suppose to have 2 gallons per a fish. That is the ratio fish breeders and pet stores recommend to prevent crowding.

Answer #7

Tetras are pretty and exotic, but I’m pretty sure they need heat. You won’t fit a heater in a two gallon tank.
