2012, Mayan Calendar

I was just wondering what people thought about it. I spent months studying the Mayan calender trying to figure it out.

December 21, 2012 All they foresee is a “Great Change” which doesn’t so much say the world will end, in their teachings it is shown that the universe will complete a full-circle and align to rearrange how it was 5,000 years ago and 5,000 years before that.

Quote: The Great Cycle, lasting 1,872,000 days and equivalent to 5,125.36 years, is but one fifth of the Great Great Cycle, known scientifically as the Great Year or the Platonic Year - the length of the precession of the equinoxes. To use a metaphor from the modern industrial world, on Winter Solstice A.D. 2012 it is as if the Giant Odometer of Humanity on Earth hits 100,000 miles and all the cycles big and small turn over to begin anew. The present world age will end and a new world age will begin.

THE TREES WHO TALKED

We speak to you now As ones, who like you, Are much younger than The Mountains

Sustained by the same Water And the same Sun And both blessed to be In this place of wonder, We have been asked to tell you To share and celebrate This Garden with your kind

The Bear brings you power, The Deer, protection We, the Trees, standing silently In witness, give you trust

The Water comes and goes The Animals are busy On their own paths The Mountains, well, They have other things to do, Communing with the very forces That created the face Of this Earth

We speak to you now as ones Whose lives come and go, Much like yours. You, however, are affecting How this Garden grows And that is why we seek Your attention

As I see it, the great change could just be a recycling of sorts, or it could be the end of technology as we know it, I don’t think it will be so much of a “Apocalypse” though.

I can’t wait for 2011 because I am going to get a lot of credit cards and run them up to the LIMIT!

Answer #4

Yeah, Nostradamus got Hitler’s name in his prediction, and even Himmler.

I always liked things like this, call me weird, but I studied the Mayan calendar longer than anything I ever did for classes -_-

Answer #5

The Mayan calendar has predicted a lot of things, predicted Hitler even pronounced his name in the prediction.

My problem with it being the whole “End of the world” idea is that the Mayan’s where very thorough with their predictions, if its going to be the end they would have mentioned mankind vanishing, instead they just say there will be change, much like Obama, except the Mayan’s have about a 99% better chance of it.

Answer #6

well the mayan calender didnt specificaly say that the world is going to end, thats just what people comprehended from it. I honestly dont believe that the world is going to end on december 21st 2012, but thats just my opinion!
