why do u have to be 16 to be able to drive?

Answer #1

Wow I totally forgot everyone had to wait till there 16, I can drive at 14 where I live, it’s the only place in Canada with the law stating that you can get your learners at 14 and take your driving test at 16. I’m going to get my learners soon, vie just Been to lazy to go all year haha.

Answer #2

I believe the driving age should even be raised to 18. Driving is a huge responsibility and not a joke, not paying attention, bein inexperienced, all not only threatens your life but the lives of others too.

Answer #3

i can get my learner at 15 but im also way to lazy to do it, and im almost 16 in like a month oir so:)

Answer #4

in the uk you got to be 17 before you can start to learn how to drive,so your lot are lucky.

Answer #5

As all laws, usually you have to be 16 or 18 to drive.it is imporatant because you will be more mature and responsible, and possibly can handles things well, driving a car looks easy and fun and a guy like you would love to drive,i know, but its not a right time, you need to be an adult,so that you dont end up hitting your car into your neighbours car.

Answer #6

i already dirve so yea iv been driveing since i was 13 but not legaly of course.

Answer #7

I think it should be 21. Have you seen what the teens do in cars? I have yet to see one teen without at least one car accident record. I think teens can’t drive like normal people. They’re always having to “race” with other drivers in high traffic.

And yes, I’m calling myself irresponsible at driving because I’m a teen. I’m not ashamed to admit that I don’t drive like a normal person.

Answer #8

because it’s the law? And I don’t want anyone under that age on the road, thank you very much. I value my (admittedly piece of %*$) car.

Answer #9

thats so unfair i just turned 17 and can only now take lessons :(

Answer #11

cause we dont want crazy kids driving cars around. under 18 most kids can barely listen to instructions let alone drive a car and follow all the laws of it. the insurance for someone under 16 would just be ridiculous and no one except millionaires would be able to afford it anyways. so why do you think you cant drive til you are 16?

Answer #12

why not make it so at 16 you sit a exam too see how mature and responible that person is,because at 16 some people will be mature and responisble to drive, and some others who would not be,then thats fair for everyone!

Answer #13

I don’t think it’s fair to categorize younger people and say they all can’t listen to instructions.

Answer #14

Overhere it is 18. I think 16 is too young. Teenagers can be really irresponsible when it comes to cars and most people around here that just get their licence are also irresponsible.
