Your motivator?

What is the motivating factor in your life?

Answer #1

Don’t always succeed but I strive to do and say things in my life that make a real difference to other lives, pleasing my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A sinner saved by grace.

Answer #2

As stephanie said I want to make my parents proud of me. There are many dreams that I want to happen, the most importants one is that I want to be happy in my life and if I study enough now I will be - so this motivates me.

Answer #3

I just want to make my parents proud. My sister kind of failed at life because shes into drugs, stealing and all that stuff. So, I feel the need to make my parents proud because she let them down.

Answer #4

Those whom I meet

Those whom I meet, as Friends I greet, And as a Friend I treat them so; That when in need, or sadly grieved, I may help their Spirits grow.

For unto this world, as a shepherd I came, With a Life that’s not my own; And a purpose plain, that’s not for fame, But to help my friends get home.

So when I hear, upon my ear, The sounds of troubled Souls; I can do no less, then to do my best, To help them toward their goals.

And I know I’ll find, with the passage of time, That I’ve helped their Spirits grow some; And though appreciated, thanks aren’t awaited, For my friends are always welcome.

From my chosen path I stray, Yet my God any’er turns away; For I have learned – and understand, That where God is – is where I am!

Answer #5

With toadaly, I can identify a whole load of little motivating factors in my life. They range from the mundane: I need a glass of water; via the selfish: I want to be left alone! to the truly important: I need to pick up my sons from school.

There are overriding motivations too, which are necessary to stop the selfish from taking over the important - I’d like to be alone but my children need me - we can all override our selfish ambitions for things like that.

My overriding motivation is to serve God through loving and serving my family, my neighbours, my pupils, my friends and the wider world. The mundane drives fit perfectly well into this and this motivation helps to override the selfish ones. I also know that to love and serve well I need to take time out, so I even get some of the selfish desires, just not necessarily where and when I want them!

Answer #6

God.

Answer #7

I don’t have an all overriding motivating factor. Instead, I have lots of little motivating factors.

Answer #8

Mine? The motivating factor in my life is that I’m going to heaven and I’m “taking” (by talking with others about God’s Word) whoever I can!
