The main thing is if you can write things other people want to read and are willing to pay for. After that you need to get the right person to look at it. Getting a book published is difficult but if you are persistent you have a shot but be ready for a lot of rejection. When J. K. Rowling sent her manuscript for Harry Potter to publishers it was rejected as too long for a children’s book. Finally Rowling sent it to someone who showed it to his 8 year old daughter who read the whole manuscript and asked for more. The Harry Potter franchise has since made $billions. Short of publishing your own book there are technical writers, freelance writers, journalists, ghost writers, etc.
