Why wouldn't I be seeing any results after several weeks of working out?

Ive been working out and changed my diet and have lost a total of ten pounds so far but it looks like im getting fatter not skinnier even though i am loosing weight. What would cause this =/ and how long will it take before i start seeing visual results?

Answer #1

because it all depends on your intesity of the workout, how much your eating and what your eating. you could be working out everyday but eating junk food . if you do that you wont see results. or maybe your work out is to easy for your body and you need to increase the intensity. for a good work out you need at lease a 1/2 hour of cardio and less than an hour cos afteer a hour the workout is at a plateau

Answer #2

weight loos takes time, mix up your routine a bit and keep eating healthy as well. also typically with loosing weight you loose quite a bit and then the rest comes off slower and more gradually

Answer #3

Depends what kind of results you’re looking for. If you mean weight loss, it may be that you are maintaining the same weight because at the same time you’re working off fat, you’re also building up muscle. If so, that’s a good thing, and it will help with weight loss too in the long run, because muscle tissue has a higher metabolic rate, which means you’re body will burn more calories when you’re at rest than it did before.

Answer #4

If you are exercising in your target zone (60%-80% of maximum heart rate) 3times or more a week then you will see a difference within a month. If you stop exercising then you will be put back a step as you can get unfit very quickly and it takes more time to become fit. A good diet is also key and eating fruit and veg is usually best. I’m a vegetarian so I don’t eat meat and I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables in my food. To boost metabolism drink cold water in the morning or hot water with lemon juice from an actual lemon. This will make you loose weight easier (: Good luck and Well done so far!

Answer #5

im loosing weight thats not my problem but visually i look like i have gained weight and my diet is fine i dont eat any junk food what so ever

Answer #6

Water retention? Oftentimes when people start exercising after a long time of not, they build up water retention in a certain part of their bodies. I also feel fatter when I exercise, but I would think that is because of toning and extra muscle. Do you drink enough water during the day to help prevent you from bloating?(you shouldn’t be drinking too much or too little)

Answer #7

You may have gained muscles? I mean it takes a while to burn fat. If you use short but intense workouts you build up muscles but do not lose a lot of fat. It that is the case, use lighter but longer workouts. Putt on less weight and do it slowly. good luck

Answer #8

if i am gaining muscle then i shouldnt be loosing as much as i am now
