Will I see ab results from doing situps?

if I do 20 sit ups every night for a week would I see any results??

Answer #1

Perhaps in about ten years! I’d recommend doing about 50 a night to start and work up to at least 100. You wouldn’t get out of boot camp unless you could do 50 at one time.

firstly you need to jog to get rid of the layer of fat at the abdomen(you only start burining fats after 20mins of jogging, so try to jog at least 40mins 3times a week) watch your diet eat food with high protein like chicken breast meat and keep away from your fast foods, next i suggest you try and do 100-200situps or cruches a day[IN SETS] and thats about it i got mine within 2months

You will not see weight loss results from doing 20 sit ups for a week. You will also not see any results as far as definition in your abs. Are you varying the sit ups to target all the areas of your abs? If you are not, you will only eventually see muscle increase in the area you are target, which will not result in tight abs. You also will not see your tight abs if there is a fat layer over your abdomen. if there is a fat layer, you will need to combine a change in diet, cardio, and muscle toning over several months to see results. Good luck :)

What kind of results are you looking for, tighter abs, general weight loss? You need to work out the whole body no matter what kind of results your looking for, if your trying to tighten your abs, or lose body fat, Theres no such thing, really as spot reduction, where you do one exercise and it solves one problem area. So you really have to be more specific as to what you expect 20 sit ups to do?

Answer #5

To answer your question directly:

No. You will not see results from doing what basically amounts to 30 seconds of work each night for a week. I’ve heard of 10 minute workouts, which are ridiculous… but 30 second workouts? Give me a break!

If you’re looking for the absolute bare minimum (though if you’re serious, then you really should start on a full body program), then 3 to 5 sets of squats (and you’ll need to learn how to do them), of about 12 to 15 reps each, once a week. This stimulates more muscle fibers and creates greater adaptive changes than any other single exercise. It also trains your abs.

Answer #6

Situps are for your trunk stablizatinion but wont build up yous abs, But crunches an reverse crunchs are meant especaily for this. They will build them up with the right amount of repitions (20-30 att least) and sets ( 3 sets is best) but if you have a lot or even some belly fat under there it will cover your new muscles and short workouts an isolation workouts wont get rid of that so make a work out schedule.
