would a guy take this big of a risk to hook up with a girl?

I was hooking up with a guy and decided it was against my morals and told him to leave me alone unless he was single or serious about being with me. he dumped his serious girlfriend like 2 days later and I’m positive they broke up. would a guy actually break up with his serious girlfriend just to get me to sleep with him? he told me he lead me on earlier this year because he just wanted to use my body.

also, he used to come over after parties and we’d make out and stuff (never sex), and now he doesn’t do that anymore. he claims he’s trying to “prove” himself to me. I told him I’m a virgin and won’t do that with him unless we’re serious.

so would a guy actually break up with his serious girlfriend just to get me to sleep with him? that’s a huge risk! and how can I tell if he’s serious of not about me? how can I tell he’s proving himself to me? he still only ever asks to hang out on the weekends. never asks me to get food with him or get ice cream :-/

IN my perspective (as a guy) that when a guy goes out of his way or makes a serious change in his everyday life it is for something important. I dont Think he is I can say I KNOW he is serious.
