This is going to be my first time ever running winter track (or basically doing a sport in general, besides baseball when I was in the 5/6th grade)... What should I wear to practices, etc... Any technical tips? etc...
My coach wasn't too specific in the introductory meeting... He sort of ran the meeting in a way only kids that have done it before can understand. So I need help.
What are the events I can do, and what are they like, etc..??
Hopefully someone can help me! Thank you! I'm excited!
I run track also, have been for 2 going on 3 years. If its warm weather outside, then wear gym shorts and a t shirt or basketball shorts and a t shirt, if its cooler outside then wear sweat pants but have gym shorts/basketball shorts under your sweat pants or atleast where you will have them if you want to change. have a hoodie or light jacket to wear, but once you start running you will probably want to take it off because you will probably get hot. as for as events go, there's the high jump, the long jump, pole voulting, shot put, discus, 100 meter dash, 400 meter dash, mile, 2 mile, 200 meter dash, and some relay races.. do your research, and you'll be fine.. good luck! :)
Well - the best thing to wear are those warm track pants. Don't pile your clothes on because even though it's cold out, you'll be moving a lot so you'll find yourself getting very warm very quickly. Good luck.
