How does Windows Live/ Hotmail use your email to spam without you actually clicking anything?

It’s really pissing me off, I’d imagine everyone has contacts that don’t care for spam from your email. It’s only been happening for 2 days and it’s starting to get me into a bit of trouble. I haven’t clicked anything, I don’t open junk or other spam, all I do on my account is email my Aunty who was now also been getting spam from ‘me’.

I get it as well. I ended up having to delete all my contacts from my WORK (WORK!) email- it was so embarrassing. That’s the only way I found out how to fix it-delete all your contacts. You could always try to make a new email account?

Most likely someone has your password and is logging in your email and sending spam with it. Its really not that uncommon for email passwords to get stolen and then large amounts of spam sent form them.

Change your password to something completely different, and make it hard to figure out (Use caps, lower case, & numbers maybe a special character and don’t make it too short). Also check your computer for spyware/virus’s that might have swiped your password.
