Is it wierd or healthy to cry every night?

Answer #1

I think it depends on the reason that your crying, if your crying over the shoes you couldn’t get at the mall, yes thats weird in my opinion, however if their real emotional tears, I think its healthy.

Answer #2

Depends for what reason. If you suffered from a terrible loss, crying can be a great way to release your sorrow, anger, sadness. When such thing happens, you do what you can to cope and for many crying a lot helps. However, if you were crying every night for reasons like depression, some sort of self-loathing (just naming a few reasons off the top of my head) that’s not healthy, but a sign that you need help.

Every teenager experiences spontaneous emotional outbursts, many girls cry, whereas many boys turn to violence- things like kicking walls and punching doors. I think crying is a nice healthy way to release emotions and relieve stress. Although, as everybody has said, it does depend on the reason. If you have recently suffered from a loss, parents divorce, moving house etc you may want to talk to a counsellor or a trusted adult- or even a friend. But if you have no reason for crying, rest assured there are many other girls (and boys) crying that night for no reason as well. Exercise helps let emotions out too. Going for a run (it doesn’t matter how far or how fast) will relieve stress in the same way crying does. It will also leave you feeling energized and will help you concentrate at school. Even going for a walk with the dog will help. When I’m upset, I find boxing/punching a boxing bag really helps. But I’m quite a physical person so that may not work for everyone.
