Why my rabbit has just died?

Hi My rabbit was nearly 4 and 2 days ago I noticed that he had become very lethargic and not very responsive. The following day he became floppy and very cold and by the evening he died in our arms. Up until this time he had been extremely healthy and even when he died his coat and fur looked very healthy. He had no physical signs of bad health, ie sticky eyes etc so does anyone have any idea why he just died?

thats messed up… could it breath did you ever check to see if it was breathing???

I used to breed/show purebred rabbits. What you describe sounds like a gastro problem. Rabbits are very sensitive.

Did you notice your bun wasn’t drinking water or wasn’t eating? Were its fecal pellets normal looking? Was it shedding recently? Around this time, if your rabbit is indoors, she’ll start shedding. It could be that she/he got furblock from grooming, since rabbits can’t vomit. Then they stop eating. Or, if the water bottle isnt working, they won’t eat either.

I am so sorry, It could have been a tumor of some sort. It is hard to tell without a Necropsy. You must feel very sad. I am sorry for your loss.
