Why Laptop screen goes black?

… Processor blinks for 3 times along with the DVD player… then it stop… but the light of the turn on button is lit…

I’ve found a site that says you have to take out battery and unplug your wire. Press the On button for 30 to 60 seconds. It worked for 2 times.

Now When I came home someone closed the lid and the solution above wont work! I’ve tried so many times!

  1. Why Laptop screen goes black? What it has to do with closing the lid?

  2. Is there anyway to fix it? to prevent it further? Sometimes screen goes bad when I open the lid and turned it on.

  3. What are the laptop that is strong LCD? When I close and open the lid often it wont cause damage? Can you give a laptop from most affordable to high price but strong?

Another thing you can do is vacuum or blow the dust out of the vents. In the race to make thinner laptops, most manufacturers now put the intake for the cooling fans on the bottom–right where the laptop rests on your leg or unless raised where it sucks up any dust on the desk or table.

Look for ‘ruggedized’ laptops, say the Toshiba Toughbook.

When you close the lid on your laptop, the laptop should be designed to go into sleep mode.

You can change your power settings to not turn off the monitor, you can also check your screen saver.

When the electricfan is not facing my laptop then it overheat… so intense sometiemes…

This one worked 2 times… but now I’ve tried it so many times and nothing happen…

This is where did I get the first solution which soon didnt work… it worked twice but after that nothing happen…

I had the same problem with my HP DV6599. On power on the screen would stay black, no POST, nothing at all on the display. The HDD would spin up but the HDD indicator would not come on and would not boot. The DVD drive would spin up and attempt to read a disc if one was in the tray but still would not boot. I found an answer on another forum. Unplug the power, remove the battery and then hold the power button for 30 to 60 seconds. Then reattach the power and attempt a boot. It worked for me! Just shutdown, put the battery back in you’re good to go. Worked for me so definitely worth a try.
