Why is vitamin water bad for the elderly?
I care for a 90 year young lady and someone told her daughter that vitamin water is bad for her (essential) and now she can only have plain water blah.she doesn’t like plain water and this water has vitamins and taste good so can some one help me re-ensure her daughters that its okay to drink it.
Who was the person that told her daughter that? If it was a doctor, then better to listen to the doctor. If it was just a friend then they are probably just guessing that it isn’t good.
The only reason I can think of why it would be bad is because it contains sugar, which in general isn’t good for the elderly,because most of them have problems with diabetes etc.
Why not give her fresh fruit juice? That tastes better than water and is healthier then vitamin water.
