Why is the US currently entering a recession?
because we had a period of "plenty and prosper" and people did some pretty stupid things with their money. banks started handing out the craziest loans to anyone that would ask for one, and now the value of homes is falling. it also doesn't help that we've been in a war, and the fact that the cost of gas has gone up so much so quickly, causing the cost of all goods to rise in price too.
it's like the perfect storm.
Because of the Laissez-faire econmic policies started by reagan, maintain by Bush41 and clinton, then put on steroids by Cheney/Bush. Deregulation has led us to the brink.
