Why is puppy just sleeping and not being playful?
We just got him from the litter and he isnt real playful for a boxer, and his nose is real dry!
Hi =) Well, I’m not an expert on puppies or anything, but don’t they need a lot of sleep or somthing? Just like new born babies?
WHen we got our dog a year a go she was only seven weeks old and slept all the time. Vet said they do that.
His nose doesn’t mean anything…his lethargy does, however. If he’s just a baby, 8 weeks or under…then they do sleep for 20 hours a day…he should be playful and energetic between naps.
If you JUST got him today or yesterday…then he’s been thru a HUGE change, and might need even more sleep…is he eating?? Is his poop normal? No mucous, no blood, no diarreah?
Keep an eye on him this weekend, and get him in for a health check first pop this week…EVERY new puppy needs to be checked by a Vet, and started on shots immediately after you pick them up.
