Why is my money tree dying?

my mother bought me a money tree for my 17th birthday. and the shopkeeper told us it didnt need sunlight…and to water it once a week I’ve done exaclty that and I feel he told me wronf..can you tel me what I can do to revive it..and the correct what to care for it please?? and thank you.

It could be outgrowing the pot it’s in. Money trees need plenty of room for their roots. If the leaves are spotting, changing colors, and or falling off, that would be one reason it’s not doing so well, try re-potting it and adding some plant food to the soil as well.

Also, while they don’t need much sunlight - they do need some. So, try to make sure it gets at least 4-6 hours of indirect sunlight daily.
