Why have I not gone back to normal yet?

Hi I am 18 years old and two years ago I had a severe eating disorder and was hospitalized for months but recovered. I am now healthy and a healthy weight for 2 yearsand everything pretty much has gone back to normal except for one thing I havent gotten my period since I was 13 or 14(dont even remeber) anyways I had a blood test and the doctor says my estrogen is very low so I am going to take birth control pills for it why is my estrogen so low? Is it because my body is still going crazy or because I lost and gained weight so many times(o why ah before I was anorexic I was very overweight around 200 pounds at 13) and now I am 135-140 pounds and at my worst I was huvering around 100 I am 5’5. Is it because I exercise everyday(not excessively only 30-45) minutes or is my body just doomed and will never go back to normal? Any thoughts???

it could be because of your eating disorder?? my sister is 23 and she hasnt had a period since she was 14 years old but she is fine nothing is wrong with her and she still is abe to have kids she has a three year old and doesnt have periods strange I know. you should ask your doctor because he is more likely to know. good luck take care x
