why do strangers ask if you want to go for a ride in their car?

like I dont get it. why do strangers (usually older men) with good looking cars, clean cut, not necessarily ugly butt not hott, etc. ask you to get into their car or if you want to go for a ride? don’t they have wives & stuff ?? even if you do tell them your age they ask you. I know not to get into their car & they probably would just want you for sex and basically take advantage of you. are there actually people who do get in their cars? cus that is some scarey shiit !
