Why do some people are 'scared' of reptiles?

It seems like almost everyone is scared of reptiles. I don’t really understand why, Maybe it could be because of movies make them look bad and scary?

im scared of certain reptiles because im afraid that they’re going to bite me or something.

Many people fear reptiles because they are scaly, cold blooded ‘weird’ looking animals that are very fast and mysterious. I love reptiles…=)

I kinda think its the fear of the unknown. Not a lot of people have reptiles in their house, we usually have cats, dogs, hamsters, and turtles. So like I said, I think its just the fear of the unknown.

I personally LOVE snakes and reptiles. But everyone has a fear someone else thinks is stupid. So really to each his own :) I personally am scared to DEATH of jewlery commercial music, yes im being serious. It makes me panic haha, no clue why either.

People are afraid of reptiles because they are abit different. Personally I adore reptiles.
