Why do people lose their virginity so young?

I was 16 and to some that is young to others old lol. I always said to myself I never wanted to have sex the first time with someone I really liked because I would end up getting hurt, so I did it with someone I could trust. And I never regreted it, losing it to a friend I found was easier. but all and all, I was never pressured and though I was drunk I knew what was going on and I just felt ready, Only reason I had sex. lol.

There are quite a few reasons, some examples:

• They are convinced they are in “love”
• They don’t think they are too young
• They don’t know how to stand up for themselves and say “No”
• They aren’t educated enough about sex and the outcome
• Some are forced
• Some are under the influence
• They choose not to listen to others when they say “you will regret it” because they think their situation is SO different, when really it isn’t.
• Some do it to be “cool”
• Some want to experiment and see what all the talk is about

I agree with your ? knowing there are kids having sex makes me sick

Because tow things: 1/ their hormones are working, 2/ the social control does not work.

Well, when I was 12 I had my first sexual experience. At the time, I lived in a little suburb outside of Cleveland and anyway, the girl next door and I were really good friends.
