Why do people call lesbians and bisexuals gay?

ok I want to no y when people are talking about gays, lezbos and bisexual peopple why they always put them into the same group as gay? Gay is only for boys that like boys. Lezbo is only for girls that like girls. Bisexual is for both sexs and like both sex. Get it right people? STILL ANSWER THE QUESTION! I need to no y!!

Because (according to the dictionary) the word gay means homosexual.

And yes, it is annoying, it’s like how mankind is used to refer to all people… but this is a male dominate society, so c’est la vie…

I’d label it as gay, I no gay ladies and men… infact I have a gay mate… id class all gays bis and lesbians as gay, I don’t no why people do it, its like asking why does the sun come up in the morning

well, they might like people of the opposite sex. but they also like people of the same sex.

its easier, all the organisations will have all the names in their title For example: LGBT Lesbian Gay Bisexual And Transgender
