She obviously does suspect that you are cheating and that is why she got upset. I personally think that you hanging out with another female without telling your girlfriend is disrespectful. Is there a reason you did not tell her, are you trying to hide something. That's what it looks like your girlfriend. Put it this way, if your girlfriend had a guy friend that she was secretly hanging out with, and you found out. How would you feel/react. Probley the same way right. You should consider her feelings if you really care about her.
Yeah, she suspects you of cheating. The easiest thing to do would be to tell her when you make new friends. Invite her along to hang out that way she doesn't think anything is going on. But if you keep things from her then it does look like you're cheating.
