Where can I go for help with independent living?

I need a place to stay. I do not have any kids nor am I homeless at the moment but I need to find a better place to stay or at least find a program that will help me find a real steady job and a temporary place to stay.

I would look for a nice apartment until I get situated and get a good job so I can buy a small house for myself
