Going to Korea unsponsored-need help

My husband is a W01 in the Army. He just got orders for a 12 month tour in Korea. My daughter and I are going unsponsored. Don’t try to talk me out of it cause we’re going. I just need answers from spouses who have actually been there unsponsored. Did you get BAH for Korea? What kind of TriCare plan did they put you on? Will my husband have the opportunity to extend his tour to 2 or 3 years? How do I find out about Space A flights to Korea?

I’m not qualified to answer you actual questions but I would think that your current army post would have an information office which would be able to give you quality answers to your questions.

You don’t say how soon the transfer is. In any event, I’d suggest that you take a language course in Korean. It not only would help you understand the people more, allowing you more freedom off-base, but would also allow you a happier tour.

If you can’t find a source to learn Korean in your area. up might consider Rosetta Stone at:
