When will she whelp

Hi, I have a 4 yr old yorkie/poodle who was due her first litter on thurs following two tied matings on 17th and 19th jan, however, although I can see and feel the babies moving and maisey ( the dog ) is perfectly happy there are no signs of labour, if you put pressure on a teat I get a little pin prick of milk show, is it normal for dogs to be late and by how long, also anything I can do to encourage her along

Females carry their pups for 90 days (I believe) I am currently looking after my mother-in-laws dog and she just had her 2nd litter yesterday,so I’m sure you’ll be having pups real soon!! there is usually about 1/2 an hour between each pup–enjoy!!

She is not late yet!! She will go when nature tells her to. Look for the first signs of labor, loss of appetite, vomiting, shivering and panting. Just general discomfort. It will start slowly and may take many hours for her to deliver the pups.

If she hasn’t started labor by Monday, see your vet to be safe!!

Good luck with your puppies, my Lacey is due this week too!
