When is the youngest a kitten is able to be given away?

I have WAY too many pets to be keeping the 8 newborn kittens and I have to give them away. PREFERABLY TO FRIENDS, not animal shelters because who knows what happens there.

So I need to know how long until they can survive without their mother so I can introduce them to a new home???

Yep, 8 weeks.

If you have way too many pets, maybe you should start getting them spayed and neutered, so their numbers won’t continue to increase. It’s kitten season also, and cats can get pregnant every 2 month. 1 female cat and her litters can produce 420,000 kittens in just 7 years.

I surrendered 4 cats yesterday and I’m about to give up like 6 more once they reach 2lbs

Answer #3

6 to 8 weeks…tho a mama cat doesn’t wean them until they are 3 or 4 months…They may be eating some solid food at 4 weeks, but that is WAY to early…

Just so you know what goes on at county shelters…they kill them…so now you do know.
