whats wrong with my pony =[ please help

I have a horse, we first saw him in our friends next door paddock and we met the owner one day who was old and only ever put food and water down for him and he hadnt been ridden for years or groomed in ages (because the owner wasnt on his feet enough) but all we knew was that he was docked and was a pinto. we got given him and put him in with a friends horses, both of which were females.

he used to play tiggy with us and play with us, but after a bit he began to bite. we had ridden him a few times, and then one day he turned nasty, and he charged at me with his teeth bared.

now, he can b an angel and loves cuddles, but he randomly turns evil and will bite and charge at you unexpectedly. it is like he becomes possessed. he can b coming towards you with his ears pricked and then can instantly charge forward, teeth bared, and ears back

I cant understand why he does this does anyone know why, and have a cure please help we are at a loss with him he can b such an angel but he turns =( thanks

It’s also possible that she has some kind of health problem (sore tooth or something) that is causing her to be erratic. You might want to have her checked out by a vet.

Many ponies don’t have the best temperments…what this little fellow needs is for one person to show him who’s boss (one week at a trainer’s…someone who knows horses, and can “tune him up”, will change his whole attitude) A trainer isn’t mean, it’s all a matter of body language, and work in a round pen…Keep in mind, he’s feeling good now (unlike before when he wasn’t getting fed and cared for regularily…not to mention, he wasn’t being handled)…

The fact that he’s actually charging and biting says to me that he’s gotten away with this with you…now he thinks he’s in charge. Biting is damned painful (and in horses it’s a means of pushing lower horses around…size doesn’t matter). He sees you as lower than him in the pecking order. Horse bites can also be very dangerous.
