Its a HP, When i press the power button it goes to the HP invent page like normal, but then its just a black screen and the power button turns orange like its in standby or sleep mode. After about 20 minutes of that it goes to my desktop like normal but it shuts off within 15 seconds. The charger was in so it's not like it didnt hava a battery. Does anyone have a clue of whats wrong with it? :(
i always keep it plugged in so it wont run out of battery when im using it, even when i shut it off i kept it plugged in. But the light goes on when its plugged in so i suppose its still working...my moms going to take it to geek squad maybe they'll know whats wrong, i just rather figure it out myself and save money ya know :/
lets iron out the obvious 1st...
as the system is booting rapidly press the f5 key untill another screen appears asking which operating ststem you want to boot, take no notice and just press f8 and with the arrow keys select safe mode and hit enter..
can you now stay in the operating system?
no i charge it every night when i go to sleep. My computer was just fine the other day...then i tried turning it on this morning and BAM. nothing :(
There is a power saver option that you can adjust the time with. Try right clicking on the battery symbol, then click power options for example
Yeah, maybe your charger is broken, it could of over heated, it happened to me once, if you use it a lot, that could be the problem.
i dont have enough time to do that...as soon as the desktop comes on it just shuts down.
its a Hp...im supposing about 2 1/2 years old i got it for christmas in 2008.
what type of laptop is it, and how old?
Yeah, I hear ya. Chargers arent cheap.
Maybe you need a new charger?
