what does a "break" in a relationship mean to you?
It means the relationship is on hold for a little bit, meaning you aren't technically together with plans to get back together.

I think they're stupid, but well, needed sometimes I guess.

I don't see how a 'break' would help but I guess it depends on the situation and the people involved.
It can either make the person realize they wanna be with you, or make em realize they're better off not being with you! I think when someone says "break" they don't want to be with you, but they're afraid to dump you... Because if they loved and cared about you, they wouldn't want to take a break. =)
In my opinion (and experience) no relationship ever fully recovers from a "break".
There was a reason for the break in the first place, and chances are that problem was never resolved. It doesn't get resolved by being away from each other, it gets resolved with good communication and persistence.
to me it means you wanna c other people to c if you still wanna be with the person you wanna break from or move on or just live the single life again.
my friend and her boyfriend were on a break, then 4 days later they fully broke up...
