What stretches can I do for my hip?

I have a track meet tomorrow and my hip has been bothering me very badly. It hurts when I press on a certain area, and it REALLY hurts after I run. Then, it’ll hurt the rest of the day just by walking on it. Running seems to trigger it. I need some good stretches and anything else to help it in the meantime until I can get an appointment with my physical therapist. Please help!

Answer #1

just put your hands above your head and lean on the opposite side, or lay on the floor with your legs STRAIGHT on the floor and get someone to slowly lift them one at a time with their hands on your ankle and just push towards you until you cant take the pain anymore. it should be stretching pain though. you wont get very far if youre nopt very flexible. Hope it works.

Go onto all fours and raise your leg to the side while keeping it bent. ( like a dog when it pees) raise and lower it a few times, slow and steady, dont jerk it up or it could just hurt you more. Hope it helps.

Answer #3

I suggest that you REST and maybe see a doctor for medication. If you continue running with a sore hip, you could end up being of for a couple of months instead of just a few days.
