What should I name this puppy?

I am in the process of adopting a puppy, a little male yorkie-bichon frese mix. he is super sweet, shy, and cuddly…he had alittle vomiting episode when we were playing with him, so the owner said he would hang onto him for a few days just to make sure he’s healthy. so we’ll see. but im trying to think of names for him and heres what I’ve come up with… Oso (bear in spanish), Bear, Tyke, or Elton. I liked the name Elton because I love Elton John alottt… and I think it’d be cute to have a cuddly sweet pampered pup named Elton. lol

…keep in mind that dogs have no concept of GENDER, they have a concept of SEX. gender and sex are different…gender is a socially prescribed catagory, sex is biological. so im not worrying about my puppy thinking hes a girl because he wears a blue bow in his hair. lol

…im either getting him, or a little long haired chihuahua they had there… he was adorable and very lovable and spunky…he was hilarious too to play with. I’d probably name him muscles or caesar or something.

but what do you think about the yorkie-bichion mix’s names? please no rude comments condemning me for wanting to get my pup a sweater or two -I know he’s a dog, but it gets very very cold where I live :)

The majority (90%) of puppies purchased from pet stores are from puppy mills, no matter what the store tells you. Puppies from puppy mills tend to have many serious health issues. You should take your puppy to the Vet and NOT the one provided or recommended by the pet store. Have him completely checked out. And for the future…don’t buy from a pet store EVER…if you must buy a puppy go to a responsible breeder…one that has the partents at their home so that you can see the conditions and make sure the breeding is done for the right reasons…not just to make a buck. Better yet would be to adopt a puppy from a breed specific rescue or your local shelter. 1/4 of the dogs at shelters are purebreds.

I love yorkies I have a black yorkie poo I went with a traditional male name maxxipoo! I know they think there big dogs maybe somthing like tiger or somthing big!look up greek god names you migbht find som you really like I named my german shepared zues.or if you want a cute cuddly taylor lautner <3…

if I got a girl puppy I was going to name her coda!!! so weird you suggested that!! :) lol you dont think its too feminine? that probably sounds weird coming from a girl thinking about naming her puppy Elton, but still. haha :) thank SO much for your help guys!!! I really appreciate it!

I think you should name it something that brings out his personality. like mabe tigger or coda are good names for dogs like him :) hope I helped!!

If this is the same dog you are buying from a petstore, who seemed very sick, I’d hold off on naming him. Most petstore animals end up extremely ill (the pet shops like to save a buck by skipping vaccine sets), and it seems like this poor little guy is already sick :( I’d be more concerned about that, then naming him. Why not adopt from a shelter or rescue group? Buying from pet stores support puppy mills – where “popular” breeds are bred over and over in horrific conditions to sell them to pet stores.

I know this isn’t really your question, but it really worries me about this little pup, based on the information in your last question about him.
